Surly Pigglet
Behold, the surly pig, in stages of completion.
Life has never been easy for this pig.
Between acting like a sullen cry-baby and working at Starbucks, his world is tough.
His wideness does nothing to help his negative self image. He's tortured, really. It's the cookie corporation's fault for making cookies taste so good.
Man.

Thanks for posting your whole process - I love seeing how other artists work and build their paintings. Great detail in this: the little fish on his jacket, the tattoos, earrings, love it all.

That's one tough looking pig. I love the watercolor washes in the background. Did you do that with photoshop too?

Thanks everyone! I drew it and painted the drawing with a monochromatic watercolor. Typically I do this with a blue or brown, they seem to get the most natural of values. I then scan the painting (I'd already scanned the drawing before painting it) and put them together, keeping the line work and getting the values from the painting. Then I just go from there and paint with Photoshop. Thanks again!

Very nice. I wish I knew how to use computer programs for my art. I have Illustrator but can't understand it for the life of me. One of these days.
